The summer season is a time when people plan fun activities, outing, and vacations for yourself and your family. But what about fun activities for your pups? There are many fun summer activities you can do with your pup! Here are some ideas to try to see what your dog enjoys the most.
Pool or Beach Time
A lot of dogs love swimming especially when the weather is very hot. If your dog has never swam before, introduce it to them slowly. It is a good idea to get them a dog life jacket while they are learning to get more comfortable while swimming. Dogs also love the beach! The beach is a fun place for dogs to walk around and explore.
Dine Outside
Is your dog always used to eating in the kitchen? Consider eating outdoors more often while the weather is nice. If your dog already often eats outside, consider having a picnic. A picnic could be a fun activity for the whole family! You could also bring your pup to a restaurant that allows dogs on their patio. Some restaurants have a special doggy menu too!
Find Music in the Park
Many parks do live music on summer nights. Find a park that allows dogs during these events! Dogs love being outside and listening to music while also playing with the other pups that are in the park. Your dog will also thrive when they get a ton of attention from other music listeners as well.
Dog Yoga
Some fitness classes allow dogs to tag along! Your dog might join in or just sit on the side and watch but either way it is a good way to get your dog out and to spend more time together.
Go to the Local Farmer’s Market
The farmer’s market is a great place to take your pup! Your pup will get a lot of attention and maybe even get a few treats too! This is a great healthy activity to do with your pup.
Make Pupsicles
Dogs love a nice cold treat on a hot summer day. Puree some dog-safe fruit and freeze it in the popsicle molds. Your dog will love this treat and it’s a great way to get some fruit into your dogs diet!
